Calla Lily in the Morning

Always the anticipated arrival in the garden beds.  The unfurling of this luscious white beauty is a spectacle to behold.

Bird Park

By now, we have all heard of a dog park and may have even taken our favorite canine to socialize and play at one near our house.  This week I came upon a "bird park."  I don't think we are to bring the family pet bird to this park, but maybe just wait for the native birds to fly in and enjoy the bird seed and water bath put out for them along with this darling assortment of bird houses.

Monarch Resting on the Grass

Enjoyed a few moments watching this monarch butterfly resting on the grass.

Bird of Paradise

I am reminded every time I see this plant what a lucky person I am to live in "paradise."

Indian hawthorn (Pink) or Rhaphiolepis indica

Enjoying the bright pink displays as the Indian Hawthorn is in full bloom.  These are two separate bushes growing in the same hedge.  I prefer the brighter pink. 

Bees were buzzing around these flowers doing what bees do.

Rose Buds and Blossoms

Perfect roses.  It's so early in the season the folliage is deep green and the blooms are fantastic.  Love the subtle edges in yellow with a peek at yellow veining in the interior.
