Bees in the Penstemon

Enjoying an afternoon collecting pollen from the penstemon in my garden is a hum of bees! The bell shape of the penstemon completely enrobes the bee once it enters.  After gathering nectar and pollen, the bee backs up and then hangs in the air for a split second.  Finally, off to the next flower.

First Radishes from My California Garden

My first harvest of red, purple and white radishes took place at 8:14 a.m. DST (Daylight Saving Time!)  The colors are so beautiful, the radishes need to be showcased in full color.

After the photo shoot, it was time for a tasting.  Picked while still small, the radishes were solid yet tender/crunchy with a bit of heat which lingered only momentarily.

Note:  Apparently, the radishes got the color-of-the-year memo from Pantone.
