Water-wise in the Winter

Enjoying water-wise plants like succulents as they show up in more gardens.  With the winter we are experiencing (low rain/high temps), it's easy to see that they are a prudent choice.

Red Onions All Around

Last fall I sprinkled some seeds I harvested from onions which had gone to seed.  I have these wonderful purple onions popping up now that we have had some wonderful rains this winter.  They range in size from "spring" onions to mammoth versions like this.

Dill-y of a Plant

This beautiful flower is blooming on my volunteer dill plant.  Smells so wonderful when you walk by this plant and is lovely to look at, too.

Apparently, the dill flower is a homing beacon for the tomato hornworm, so it will need to be harvested soon.
