Dill-y of a Plant

This beautiful flower is blooming on my volunteer dill plant.  Smells so wonderful when you walk by this plant and is lovely to look at, too.

Apparently, the dill flower is a homing beacon for the tomato hornworm, so it will need to be harvested soon.

Artichokes Always Make Me Wonder About Aliens on Earth!

When the artichokes start to produce, I always marvel at how exotic this plant is.  Do you like yours grilled, stuffed or dipped in butter?

Strawberries This Spring

While I was away, the strawberries plants and sun were very busy.  Sweet bounty.

Snappy Blossom in the February California Garden

Love the delicate blossom of sugar snap peas.

Tendrils hold on to the twine as they grow toward the sun.
A drop of morning dew clings to the dried blossom of the growing sugar snap pea.

The morning sun creates an "x-ray" view of the inside of the snap pea.

Strawberries Sweet and Ripe

My strawberries are amazing this year.  I have never harvested as many sweet little berries.  So lucky.

Meyer Lemons are Ready for Squeezing

I love this time of year for citrus.  My Meyer Lemons have ripened and there are a few blossoms ready to set lemons for next season.  I'll be baking up a few goodies like lemon crinkle cookies and lemon pound cake.
