Great Resource for Hemerocallis (Daylilies)

Beautiful Hemerocallis (Daylily) in shades of orange and yello

Recently I became aware of a great web site, The Vermont Flower Farm, for fans of Hemerocalllis (Daylilies) plants.  The have a great A-Z listing of daylilies with a brief description. 

For those who are huge fans of hemerocallis,  I found the American Hemerocallis Society.  

I've added a few different cultivars of the daylily this year and after reading more about this plant, think I will add even more!

Daylilies

Daylilies are blooming in California. I found two beautiful specimens. I love the ruffles and frills of the orange bloom and the tailored crispness of the yellow one.

Daylily's First Bloom

This season's first daylily bloomed yesterday. I guess the heat gave it what it needed to pop open this bloom. The bloom is soaked in spray from the irrigation system. That was one way to try to stay cool when the temps were so high.

Hemercallis "So Sweet"

The lemon yellow bloom of the Hemerocallis made its debut today. The garden was amazing with two hummingbirds zipping around the lavatera. These two birds have been present so regularly this spring, I might just set up a tripod to capture their photo as they zip arround sampling the nectar.
