My irises hadn't been divided for a few years. Recently I took a few hours to divide my purple bearded irises. The space I allocated to the replanting quickly filled up with the rhizomes. After several weeks in the ground, I can see new green growth is starting.

I planted some irises few weeks ago and I can see some new growth. Isn't it too early, aren't they gonna bloom in spring?
Sunset Magazine says anytime after blooming or when soil cools in dessert locations. The California garden shops all stock irises in the fall. There is still enough time to get the plant established so it is ready for the next blooming season.
These particular irises in my yard tend to bloom late spring and occasionally I have a bloom or two up until September.
