Just Hanging Out Until Bloom Time

My friend has a wonderful potting bench outside of her garage.  The bench is an amazing launching pad for orchids.  The orchids are tended to until they produce blooms.  At that time, into the house for the show.  Once they are finished, they come back out to the bench and receive care until they bloom again.  She has about eight plants outside right now.  This one is ready to bloom any day.

Check out these amazing orchid blooms here, here (Roger's Gardens) and here (babysitting an orchid).

Thyme to Bloom

I love having herbs in the garden for the kitchen.  I went to the garden today and found my thyme had bloomed.  This plant has been in the garden forever and I continually cut back hard to keep it fresh and less woody.

Calla Lilies Continue to Bloom

My patch of cala lillies are continuing to bloom. I snapped a close up of the stamen because I was intrigued by the way it looked. Definitely click on the top photo for a super close up look at the frilly stamen.

It's All About Perspective

Here's what I have discovered about flowers. If you view them from five feet seven inches away, you are going to miss out on some of the magic. This bloom is downward facing, forcing one to bend deeply to really enjoy its beauty.
