Bamboo plants also lined the walking path we took yesterday. It is very robust and invasive and seems to have a strong presense in this natural area.
(Note: Interestingly, this area was part of a small fire about two years ago. About 40 firefighters fought the fire for 30 minutes. Luckily, no person was injured but you can see the trees behind the bamboo are blackened.)

Bamboo is very invasive and extremely resilient! I love bamboo, and planted it in our backyard. In a few short years it took over everything and began advancing to my neighbor’s year. Because of that, we cut it all out - but we can not kill it no matter how hard we try. I guess even fire won't get rid of it. Thanks for letting me know because I haven't tried that yet. ;)
Interesting that the trees behind the bamboo are still black from the fire. Do they not have leaves because it's winter, or are they dead from the fire effects?
The blacken branches are damaged from the fire. Other parts of the same trees have leaves growing.
