Stephanotis Flower

Ah, the stephanotis is in bloom. The fragrance is marvelous and the flower is so simple and waxy.

My vines are in an alcove area surrounded by small shoulder high walls on three sides. The plant gets some direct morning sun and by afternoon receives no more direct sunlight.

I have a stephanotis plant and I love it. It hasn't bloomed since last fall, but has grown considerably, when I get married I want my entire bouquet to be made of stephanotis flowers, the smell is exquisite. Didn't Jessica Simpson have a trailing bouquet of this flower when she married Nick Lachey? At any rate, I loved her bouquet and I'm sure it smelled fabulous! P.S I had no idea this flower was related to the Jamine, but I'm not surprised as I'm attracted to all such smells.

Time your wedding to coincide with the blooming period! My flowers bloom for a limited period of time during the summer.

They are a favored flower to show up in bridal bouquets, especially onew with a romantic classic design.

I live in Atlanta GA. my Stephanotis is indoors in the winter with full day light exposure. In the summer I place it in a location with late afternoon sun so it doesn't get scorched. With regular fertilizing and watering it still doesn't flower for me. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure. This plant actually is fairly neglected...just what you don't want to hear.
