Gardeners are often inspired by the beauty of the plants and produce in the garden. Some things are so lovely, they should be hanging in a gallery.
Done! With the help of a web site called Photofunia, you can upload your favorite garden photos and easily create altered images. These photos appear to be hanging in the Tate Modern, London. In actuality, they are two black and white photos I took of garlic heads at a farmers' market and the harvest of a sunflower seed head from my own garden. Upload the photos, click on "go" and voila, your own gallery show.
Apparently, I am not the only one inspired by the beauty of sunflower seeds in abundance. The Tate Modern in London currently has a exhibit, The Unilever Series by artist Ai Weiwei--Sunflower Seeds 2010
This show features photos of sunflower seeds by Ai Weiwei. Said the artist of the simple sunflower seed:
In China, when we grew up, we had nothing . . . But for even the poorest people, the treat or the treasure we'd have would be the sunflower seeds in everybody's pockets.
